Popla Foothills Skyview Tower TOTK Location And Activation
Unlocking every fast travel point in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is essential for smooth navigation across Hyrule. The Popla Foothills Skyview Tower serves as a crucial vantage point for exploring the southern territories of the map. However, players arriving at this structure will quickly notice that the activation terminal is completely unpowered and non-functional.
Finding the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower Location
The Popla Foothills Skyview Tower is situated in the Faron region, located directly south of Central Hyrule and east of Lake Hylia. Adventurers can easily spot its glowing profile among the rolling green hills and rocky terrain. The exact map coordinates for the tower entrance are roughly (0602, -2119, 0098).
Reaching the area is straightforward if you travel southeast from Hyrule Field or glide down from adjacent elevated ridges. Because the surrounding landscape features gentle slopes, players do not need extensive stamina upgrades to reach the site. Once you arrive at the base, you will discover that interacting with the console yields no response.
Locating the Trapped Mechanic Underground
To restore power to the tower, you must locate the maintenance worker who handles its upkeep. Just outside the tower entrance lies the Popla Foothills North Well, where cries for assistance can be heard from below. Dropping into the well reveals a trapped NPC named Elmerson stuck behind a heavy metal gate.
Elmerson explains that he became trapped while investigating local ruins and cannot reach the release mechanism from inside his cell. Since the gate cannot be broken with weapons or explosives, Link must find an alternate entrance to the underground passage. Using the Ascend ability allows players to return to the surface quickly to search for the nearby cave entrance.
Rescuing Elmerson at the Excavation Site
Head to the base of the cliff just south of the tower to locate the entrance to the Popla Foothills Excavation Site. Heading inside the cave leads directly to the opposite side of the locked cell where Elmerson is imprisoned. Positioned directly in front of the bars is a large pressure plate switch built into the stone floor.
Stepping onto the switch immediately lifts the gate and frees the trapped technician. As a token of appreciation, Elmerson rewards Link with Rupees before rushing back to the surface. You can also place a heavy object on the switch using Ultrahand to keep the doorway permanently open for future cave exploration.
Activating the Tower Terminal and Launchpad
After freeing Elmerson, use the Ascend ability or walk back up to the Skyview Tower base. You will find Elmerson standing next to the terminal, where he successfully repairs the broken wiring and restores power to the launchpad.
Interacting with the fully operational console registers the Popla Foothills area to your Purah Pad. Launching into the air unlocks both the surface and sky map details for the Faron Grasslands and surrounding Necluda regions. This completed tower now acts as a permanent fast travel waypoint for future adventures.
